In 2023, I took a CNC course at the Penland School of Craft. I challenged myself in my first project by seeing if it was possible to CNC mill a chain out of a single piece of wood. I had to flip the wood 3 times to get each side and then had to free the chains by hand sawing the connecting bridges that were needed in order to successfully mill the project.
My second project was inspired by the Japanese video game, Katamari Damacy. I wanted to create a playful and tactile object that would be interesting to children. Both objects are intended to be toys that could potentially sooth children, like a fidget toy.
